Ozymandias- Jude Law
Silk Spectre- Natalie Portman
The Comedian- Robert Deniro (Seems a shame to waste him on a small part, but he'd be perfect-- especially if he can still bulk up like he used to when he was younger)
Nite Owl- Tom Hanks
Dr. Midnight- I think someone unknown would be best for this role. Obviously the guy would have to be tall & totally ripped. A deep voice would be important too. If the studios refused to have an unknown in the role, then Brad Pitt would work.
Rorshasch- I was going to say Edward Norton, but I like the David Caruso idea, too.

...Incidentally, the idea to make a Watchmen movie has been kicked around for a long time. I remember that there was an initial project that had cast Ah-nold as Dr. Midnight a few years after Watchmen had been published. Thank goodness it wasn't made then because the technology didn't exist at the time to produce the movie well. Now it could be done very well with the right director in charge. It will happen, sooner or later. Look how long it took for a studio to make V for Vendetta, and that didn't even have the special effects difficulties that Watchmen has.

A little bit, I think. A lot of character and backstory material had to be compressed or left out, but that's the nature of the different media. Visually the film is brilliant. All the effects work. The soundtrack choices, various songs used for atmosphere or timeline touchstones, struck me at first as erratic or even aural assault, but it does work. I think the cast nailed their parts. The big change, from the squid/monster to another "invasion threat", I found quite satisfying. The graphic novel still exists for those who don't like the film (and for those who do). I don't see the point in hoping for a direct, exact adaptation, because that's just retelling a story I already know, and leaves no room for innovation, surprise, interpretation. What was done to bring Watchmen to the screen was done well. (On the scale of "Alan Moore sourced works made into movies" it's easily the best. His story, mostly, made it to the screen. As a counterexample, "V for Vendetta", which I also enjoyed, was not Moore's story, it was a different story told with characters he had co-created. That's not the case with Watchmen.) I like the Watchmen film a lot (caveat: I'm a longtime comics geek who read the original comics in real time). It's not for children.

I don’t know who I’d cast, but I like the idea. Watchmen was great, and I know loads of people who’d like to see a movie. Are they actually planning one? Additional details, please!

james belushi = nite owl

fabio = ozymandias (it would be funny watching that moron try to speak intelligently)

jack la laine = the original night owl

the chick from zorro = ms. jupiter (the daughter- sally right?)

rorschach = carrot-top, you need a pathetic red-head, no one on this planet fits the bill better than him.

the comedian = george carlin would be a great choice, however he couldn't bulk up enough, given the age and "passing hero" i would give this to AH-nold. Ah-nold's crazy face would be bad a ss for watching him flamethrower the charlies.

mulloch = clint eastwood

mrs. jupiter (mother) = dolly parton

rorschach's shrink = bernie mac

the built up dyke = rosie o'donnel

the comic kid = eddie murphy

the hottie lesbian = jessica alba

dr. manhattan = post blue = bas reutten, pre = gilbert from revenge of the nerds.
