Why is it, that the TV show "Heartbeat" is stuck in early 1969? I know it's meant to be set in the 60s, but can they at least progress to mid or late 1969? And why don't they mve on a decade? They've beein in 1969 for the last 4 series, so technically, they should be in early 1973. Why don't they move the TV show into the 70s, the 80s then 90s?

Yes I have actually thought this myself. It started when I was about 7 in the early 1990s, so if the programme is 15 years old it should be 1975 in Aidensfield by my reckoning.

I tune in every now and then and thank god Rosie is gone. I absolutely can't stand Sherri though. Her argument about the n word was stupid. I liked what Barbra said later though that if she would of said it she would of gotten kicked off the air. Which is most likely true. And Whoopi sure does seem to cuss an awful lot on there. Well more than the other hosts anyway.

I agree to some extent. However, the programme is set in the 60's and is about life in the sixties, so the premise of the series would be destroyed. Some of you may think it's crap, but to those of us nostalgic for our formative years, especially the music used and the cars driven, it's interesting.

I think it's stuck in a time warp. Most people like it for the nostalgia and music from that era. Also, they would have to replace all the actors,I'd like to see what Gina looked like in the 90's,I reckon she'd weigh 16 stone, live in a council house on a sink estate and be the proud mother of twin CHAV's!!!!

you are right its really silly. Im 25 now and it was on when I was at school! Do u remember that the policeman was Nick and his wife and that was years and years ago now, they are stuck in some sort of timewarp. I also want to know why all the policemen fall inlove with either teachers or drs and they end up dead.
I hate that stupid show! AXE Heartbeat!!!

That would defeat the point of putting a programme seeries on like hat, because it was meant to be set ithe 60's.

I agree, they should move on with the time, but maybe lots of people like that era. I think it start off in the 50s though.
