Mathematician Hardy and Ramanujan got into a taxi which number was 1729. Hardy happened to say that the number 1729 seemed like a dull one, and Ramanujan said, "No, it's a very interesting number. It's the smallest number that can be expressed as a sum of two cubes in two different ways".

1³ + 12³ = 9³+ 10³ = 1729

This was one of Hardy's favorite stories about Ramanujan, whom he regarded as a surprise prodigy from India.
