Its significant because African Amercian coaches weren't given chances to be a head coach in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Now that there is more black coaches in the NFL, the next logical step would be to have one become a champion. To have this happen first in 2006 is crazy, especially compared to the other major sports in America.

I don't find it significant at all. Everyone whines and cries that they want to be treated equal, but then they make a huge deal about the 1st time that a black person does this or that. If we ever want to get away from racism and inequality then we ALL need to quit looking at skin color.

I feel like the media plays a big role in this, most of us wouldn't have even noticed this trivial fact if it wasn't for the media throwing it in our faces before, during, and after the game.

Why is the fact that they were black have anything to do with it? Thay were both good coaches that deserved the chance to go to the Super Bowl. By the way, both of them are born again Christians also.

The Koo Koo Klan probably tried to sell something like, "NO BLACK QB OR COACH will EVER win the SB." BOTH have done it now. Doug Williams was SB MVP TOO!!!

It's only important if you believe taking a simple, single fact, and then blowing it up in importance to try to 'prove' your belief system is correct.
