When folks discuss it, they talk about the deaths of soldiers and their intrusion into our private lives. "The Price of Freedom" as they put it, it the price we all have to pay for our liberty..........and in this case, it means giving up our liberty. It is nuts!!
The real "Price of Freedom" is the price we have to pay for living in a truly free society in terms of the risks that means we have to be willing to endure. The "Price of Freedom" means that we have to accept the risks that are out there in our society and that even if government intrusion might lessen those risks, we reject it because GOVERNMENT INTRUSION LIMITS OUR FREEDOM. "The Price of Freedom" is the risk that we all assume walking into the shopping mall, knowing that someone could walk in with a bomb and kill us.....Sure there are steps that the government could take to lessen the risk, but EACH STEP THE GOVERNMENT TAKES INTO INTO OUR LIVES LIMITS OUR FREEDOM.
Let's take freedom back!
(Ok, I admit, not a question)

For those that think you have not lost freedom, remember that the government asked the phone company for all of their records...(some actually complied with this)....The government checks library records.....They have circumvented the law to eavesdrop on phone conversations....
Yes, this may make us "safer." But, they are limiting freedom and creating a larger and more powerful government.....Something that conservatives USED to oppose......
Dont let them scare you....

So, explain to me how your freedoms have changed, on a day to day basis, since 911. Mine have not changed at all. The only exception is if I were plotting terrorist attacks, which I am not, that I would not be able to use banks, phones, mail or email to freely communicate my ideas. Seeing as how I don't want terrorist attacks happening, these changes enhance my freedom.

As one amount goes up so does the other, it is just a game of cat and mouse, The government increase tax so the companies charges more to keep there profits, so the government charge more tax because they put the price up. This has happened from my understanding for almost 30 years now. So how do the company make extra money without the government forcing a tax, well the tax man can only take tax on the basis of how much money is made or spent, there is no such money as 0.9p so tax man cant touch it it, but if 1'000'000 buy it in a day thats £9000 extra in there pocket, but still the tax man cant touch it. but before anyone ask if £9000 is worth it to a multi billionaire company, remember all but 22p currently is tax and costs, 2p to the company selling it, leaving only a measly 20p/litre to the company. So 0.9p makes almost an extra 5% revenue to the company.

George Bush and the Religious Right love to use this term - The Price of Freedom - which means sacrificing our young men and women and giving up privacy and freedoms they deem necessary.
Strange I have never heard of a prominent Religious Right leader that has a child in the military or that is serving in the military. They seem to have the same beliefs as George Bush and clan -
let somebody else do the fighting and we will reap our benefits for the good of those we like - wealthiest and religious rights.

Don't assume that no one knows the Price of Freedom first off. The Price of Freedom is the lives that are lost in sustaining our freedom. If some other nation invaded us and took over, we wouldn't be free anymore. Another way to think about the Price of Freedom is to think about the freedom we have to bear arms. One of my best friends from high school was accidentally shot because of that freedom. Her fiance was cleaning a gun upstairs and she was downstairs. The gun went off and the bullet went through the floor and killed her instantly. Don't tell me that WE don't REALLY understand the Price of Freedom.

The government finds every excuse to take away our right to chose. For example..... The seatbelt laws.... I do not agree. An adult should have the right to chose. I agree 100% about inforcement of children but adults should beable to decided for themselves.
This is only one issue they have infringed on.
What freedom does the children that are growing up without parents. If we were fight to defend the US we would be doing it on home soil. Not protecting the Iraq people. Thats not our job, Our men and ladies did not sign up to make sure an the men and ladies of Iraq have a good life.

I totally agree with you, if you look beyond all this and check out the bottom line aka; the dollar line, check out who is benefiting.
Whoever that is, might actually be the person that is the real threat to your freedom. Think about it.
