i am not sure that i follow your logic.

wright : maker or builder (as wheel~, ship~, play~).

write : mark paper or other material with the symbols by which speech is represented to the eye, set down in writing .....

I agree, compelling argument, but I don't see why changing the opposite of wrong to "wright" is better. Wouldn't it make more sense for the opposite of right (correct) to be "rong"?The English language is silly, in general.

that would mke more sense... why don't they do that! but then what's opposite left if right is scribe???
