Southern Pride, and having the stones to fight the damnyankee government for overtaxing the Southern states. No taxation without representation? Well, not if it benefitted DC. They wanted the South's raw materials, and at a cheaper price than the South could get from England and France.

Slavery didn't have a damned thing to do with the War of Northern Aggression's start, y'all, it was about tariffs and states' rights. If you will read the Emancipation Proclamation closely, Lincoln did not free the slaves in US Territories, only in CSA territories, over which, he had no jurisdiction.

Too bad we as a country don't have the balls to overthrow the s h i t t y government we have in the place now.

I was born and raised in the North, but I like the Confederate flag. Because the South had slavery has nothing to do with a flag.
Perhaps we should bar the American flag because it reminds us of ice, snow, and freezing temperatures.

I sure don't venerate the Confederate flag but have a respect for it. The war was not just about slavery. None of my ancestors ever claimed to own a slave, but they fought and died to protect their land. Yup, I am proud of them.

I don't believe it represents the remembrance of slavery. It commemorates Southern heritage and symbolizes rebellion.
