Well, that's a loaded question. On the one hand, he's all ABOUT the search for truth. Once he's in charge in Thebes, he makes it his top priority to root out the cause of the malaise affecting the city.

The great IRONY, of course, is that he himself is the cause...in running from the oracle's prophecy, he only helped bring it to pass.
