I heard hanging your shirts could cause them to stretch,or not fit correctly over time.

Hanging shirts is always best...folding them creates wrinkles.
No, it won't make them stretch...you'd have to pull on them or hang weights on them for that to happen.
The only time I could think that something, like a shirt, could stretch would be if you hung it while it was wet. The weight of the water could certainly contribute to some stretching.
But, right out of the dryer or back from the cleaners...my answer would be to hang them on hangers.

I hang all my shirts and i never really notice a problem, but i do think using the think plastic hangers helps, the metal ones do seem to leave a little mark on the shirt, but if the hangers stretch the shirt or leave marks where the shirt was hanging I just throw it in the dryer about 10mins and the shirt is good as new

they hang everything prob. because they are lazy to fold things!! lol, I don't know!! Well, I hang all my shirts because it prevents from creases to form. I hang most of my jeans except for shorts and capris. I also hang dresses, for the obvious...wrinkling... it just depends on what your trying to achieve. Less wrinkles? Are you in a hurry? Mostly stuff cotton material I fold right away to avoid wrinkes. Silks, polyester, I hang.

depends on what type of clothes. jeans and work or just plain chill-out pants get folded. ditto shorts. nice pants that you might wear out to somewhere nice like a dinner date or something get hung up usually. same deal with shirts. tees, tanks, and just plain cotton whatever shirts get folded and put away. nice ones that are collared or starched or dress shirts or whatever get hung up if you want to make them stay wrinkle-free and nice and neat.

all depends on the person. i hang clothes that need to be hung to prevent wrinkles on them, especially after i iron them. yes, shirts, like t-shirt get stretched when hung overtime, but also washing it incorrectly shrinks it (wash after wash). i prefer folding shirts, sweats, etc. and hanging my dresses, ironed clothes, cami's, and all my dressy tops and bottoms are usually hung, and also my denims are hung because they tend to get wrinkled.

dont hang them on wire hangers that will cause creases in the shoulders. other than that either way should be fine.
