Lovie Smith and Tony Dungy are great coaches because they work hard and are good people, not because they are black.

Congrats to Tony Dungy!

Yes, they did over do the race thing. Normally on a comercial you see different races and their families. I saw one with just a black families watching the superbowl on tv. I'm black myself and have never seen a comercial with all black families on it. Even the guy who was talking was black. I'm glad 2 see we made some progress, but that stuff was just a plot.

Absolutely, i think they did! Smith and Dungy are Class A coaches due to their efforts, work ethics, discipline, and training.

The media overdoes the race issue, **no matter the situation** and, in my humble opinion, by doing so they perpetuate the "race issue" which they are greatly responsible for perpetuating for quite some time now.

What does it matter what package you come in? Regardless of the area in which a person excels, that is a *goal* they've reached; it's something they've *worked hard* for; it's where their *talents* lie ... it has nothing to do with their "packaging" (black, white, native american, hispanic, asian, etc.). Coach, singer, athlete, CEO, inventor, Congressman, ballerina, scientist, CIA, criminal ~ we each choose who we become and those who prove successful beyond the norm do so by their own efforts ~ whether a Supreme Court Justice or the most terrifying murderer.

Personally, for a trial period of, say, two years, i'd like to see all references of ethnicity removed from the lips and pens of the media. Allow the media to show or publish pictures of the person of topic because, whether one does something heroic, brilliant or horrific, they deserve to be seen so that the public can recognize them for their brilliance or watch out for them because they are dangerous, but remove every last spoken or printed reference to ethnicity for two years.

I'd be really interested in seeing what attitude changes come about in our Country by doing this. I think we might all be surprised.
