I can't remember any that I have actually liked in recent years. I though Billy Joel did a decent job last night. I wish they would hire somebody to sing it the way it's written, without all the urban yodelling. I find that many people scoop up to notes, and add a bunch of extra junk simply because they can't sing it straight. I'm tired of people "personalizing" the national anthem. Be respectful and sing it right.

Okay, I heard on the news this morning that this is Billy Joel's 2ND time singing the national anthem. I am going to hope and pray to God and all his angels that that is his VERY last time. He sounded like "HOT GARBAGE" last night.

I really don't remember any of the past singers, although I felt it was my civil duty to comment on that horrendous noise I heard last night. I know for sure I will remember that noise.

Although Whitney did a good job, my vote goes to Cher for the overall performance. She had some great praise dancers behind her and it made it more Spiritual.

terrible, i thought he could have done better, this is america!!, he should have sang it with pride, and also, they had a moment of silence for the florida victims, that was great, but they forgot about the armed forces serving ing the middle east..

this answer is totally pointless, but it gets me two points.

Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock, all the way, best anthem ever.

Even if it was at a hippie/egghead/druggie festival who all didn't really care for America as it was.
