Which of these places conjures up images of a pretty leafy village with a real High St. lined with quaint shops and local businesses, all set in a very picturesque landscape.

Thanks for your imput. I'm looking to do a painting of such a place and I'm looking for the perfect model. I'll consider any towns in Berkshire that might match this description too, but I'd rather stick to Surrey if at all possible. Thanks again!

Well I live in guildford, and there are places that are pretty and quaint, the castle grounds are nice. Personally, one of the prettiest villages in Surrey is Shere, which is just past guildford. Woking is anything but pretty, as is surrey. Godalming is pretty in places, as is Farnham. But I'd say shere is really lovely. THye filmed The Holiday, that movie with Kate Winslet and Camron Diaz there.

Try Godalming it has a quaint High Street and some really nice places.
Parts of Guildford are ok as long as you dont go into the main High Street, Woking and Aldershot are too commercialised.
Parts of Farnham are good, Try the small villages in between them all like Farncombe, Witley, Liss, or Shalford.

Some parts of Dorking and Guildford have old cobblestone streets and quaint shops, I wouldn't say they are leafy though, Oxshott has a very leafy tiny village, might be worth a look. Good luck, I hope you find your subject.
