I'm shocked so many would say 'who cares'. You do realize that keeping them their is going to breed more generations of hatred and terrorism against America, don't you? You hate America if you support that kind of treatment. Do you think people in Gitmo and their families are just going to sit idly by while this happens? I don't think so, and they'll respond the only way they know how: with more terrorist attacks.

Let's face it, while some people deserve to be their, their are many that don't and we can't determine who's who. We failed at protecting America with Gitmo. What are we going to do with them? Keep them their forever? Something has to be done.

Is it against human rights? If they did something wrong, and are being well treated, then no. If they didn't do anything wrong, then yes it violates human rights.

There's an Australian who's been there by the name of David Hicks. He was an international gun for hire, which in itself is not illegal, but he was found in Afganistan with a gun, when the US invaded. To everyone's knowledge he has never fired on allied forces. He has been there for over 5 years and is only now getting charges pressed against him. His defence lawyer said that he has only seen day-light three times in the last 4 months.

All of these things are clearly against the charter established by the international court that the US helped set up before September 11. Legally it's wrong. Morally it's wrong.

I think if you were an Afgani who was in the wron place at the wrong time, then you were placed in a detention center for 5 years waiting for your case to be heard, then this would be very clear.

I'm sure there are guilty people being detained but the ends do not justify the means.

The first thing you have to do is confirm that there are any actual 'human rights abuses' that have occurred.

There seems to be a popular belief that this is so - even though the supporting evidence has mostly been discredited.

Haven't you noticed that every time an impartial investigator looked into our operations there they could not find any real abuses?

Haven't you noticed that all of the people who claim that abuses have occurred are all pushing an agenda?

Haven't you noticed that there have not been any military personnel who served there acting as 'whistleblowers' to report wrongdoing?

Or are you going to condemn our people of criminal acts on the basis of enemy propaganda and political grandstanding?

Guantanamo Bay only show that Bush is no better than Saddam, just as Saddam held ppl without a trial, without reasonable doubt so does Bush. We live in the 21st century ppl, the middle ages are long gone, we cant treat ppl, no matter what their crimes or affiliations, as animals. If u think otherwise, than "Zig Heil!" to you.
