If your computer was purchased since Oct 26, 2006, it MAY have come with a free upgrade to VISTA. If so, you should have received a "Upgrade Redemption Form for UpGrade Version of Windows Visa" form with the Windows XP documentation.

If you have this form, follow the directions EXACTLY, and submit the form and all other required documentation prior to 31 March 2007, and Microsoft should send you an upgrade version of Vista.

If you don't have this form, you'll have to part with the $$ to buy Vista. If this is the case, you may want to wait till the MAJOR bugs are worked out of Vista before you buy. Most IT professionals I've consulted with suggest that any user wait till service pack one is released before upgrading. This is especially true if the PC is used in a business activity, where downtime or lost data would cost the business dollars or lost business.

No, But I can if I want because I recenty brought my pc from a company online that offered a free upgrade to Vista once it was released providing I send my original XP Pro with receipts to somewhere and they'll send me a free copy of Vista. Don't think I'll bother though can't be bothered with the hassle of reinstalling.

Also I don't see anything wrong with XP Pro, Vista is just another money making thing to con people into thinking they've got to have it.
