I had a red molly, she was pregnant when I got her. She had about 10 babies, afterwards her belly turned white and she was acting strange, like staying in one spot, kinda hovering. The next morning she was dead. My guppy had babies on same day, about 20 babies, but she is doing fine! What happened to my molly?

There is really no way to know for sure, but since your guppy is fine you can rule out water problems or communicable diseases. My bet is that she had a problem birthing the babies. Just as with any other animal that can happen sometimes and with fish there is really nothing you can do.

They usually have more than 10 babies so perhaps there was a problem with the birthing. Also its very stressful for the fish to give birth and they can die in the 24 hours following giving birth for no apparent reason.
