If you quit now - you will never know what you could have achieved. What's to say that the next venture you take will not be even more stressful? Giving up is not an answer to your dilemma. Take it a day at a time. If you are stressed out because you can't understand the subject matter - try and get extra help either via the lecturer or via other students. If it is a personality clash - grin and bear it - you only have a while to go and then you will have gotten your qualification + this also teaches you how to manage people that get on your nerves.

No at least not if that's your only reason for giving up. You need to learn to deal with stress. Whatever you do in life will have things and times that cause you stress, especially if your doing something challenging or important. Try to write done what's the worst that could happen? If it happened whay would I do? Once you see that you could cope with the worst, things will look less scarey. Remember 'this too will pass'. In a few months or years you'll wonder what you were so bothered about. There will be something really bad to stress you1

You have gone so far with your education to get to Uni. It would be a dis-justice to yourself to quit now. Obviously something is stressing you out and talking to a respected member of the college staff may help you. On the other hand have you had time out before joining Uni? a break from education may be quite simply what you need. However, I would talk to the Uni first before handing any notice in, I do hope you manage to overcome this issue in the near future.

Whatever you're doing in life, always keep focussed on your objective. It's what alot of people forget about, and then can't understand why they didn't get their goals or the lives they wanted.
If this is regular, try seeing a uni counsellor to share your thoughts and concerns. Maybe a different course, supplement with more relaxation and remember what your goals are.
Good luck! Rob

Then what would you do, say I'll miss this week on the assembly line? The time for relaxation is after the lecture, now is the time to prepare!

What year are you in?
I mean I study a course that I do not enjoy entirely and is stressful, but in the end I know it is worth it. I manage to get through 2 and a half years' worth of study and I am fine.
When studying it will cost you in one way or another. If you are determined and certain that you want to do this course then I recommend you put in all the effort you can spare. It will take a lot out of you but you will probably feel that you will regret it if you give up now.

I used to do that all the time!! Maybe quitting isn't the answer, you should try and decide why you dread lectures so much then you might be able to find a solution, if this fails, try the Open Unviersity - no lectures!

take seriously the beans guy, heinz made him and beans are good food.
Work out what a lecture is, think it through when feeling a lot more relaxed. Break it down into little pieces and then you will find out its not as BIGGG and you can handle it.
Your mind is a natural for learning remember that, it lovers it.

no! you should try talking to your tutors, thats why they are there, uni is a hard thing to get into and if you stick at it you'll have a career at the end of the day, not everyone gets the chance to attend. are there any classmates that can help you out, offer support in this area? that may help alot, hope you stick in, you'll thank yourself later x

Confront your problems head on and you'll feel better about it in the end. And under no circumstances...I mean this...DO NOT QUIT UNIVERSITY! A university degree is necessary in today's economy if you want to live in any kind of comfort and fulfillment.
