Is it easy to get a Oracle DBA job without completing Oracle OCP certification?

Any job is possible, however, you have to examine what capabilities you have that matches the employer needs. If you have a great deal of experience with Oracle say 10 Years as a DBA then less emphasis will be placed on the certification. However, if you have 3 Years then more emphasis will be the case. Typically, Oracle DBAs or any DBAs for that matter deal with great amounts of critical customer data. Oracle databases on average tend to be more complex and carry more data then Sql Server or an open-source solution (postgre, mysql, ingres, etc.).
So expect a more in-depth interview process along with some type of formal testing. Good luck and hope this helps.

Hello, I was in your shoes 2 years ago. After reading an Oracle Database book and finding it very interesting, I wanted very much to start my career as a DBA. I searched for an oracle dba job for almost half a year and finally someone hired me and there I started to learn a lot and became a Junior Oracle DBA. Don't dispare, you will eventually find a job as a junior oracle dba! Good luck!

Yes, a fresher can a job as a junior DBA. Is it easy if you don't have OCP? No, but it can be done. Getting any position using Oracle is easier if you have Oracle certification. That's the way it is.
