Badgers will eat a massive variety of things; earthworms, snails, wheat, baby birds, baby rabbits, voles, mice, anything small they can catch easily, berries (yes, they can even eat yew berries; the seeds that carry the toxins pass right through) nuts and every sort of edible thing you'd find in woodland. They also love cat and dog food, peanut butter, peanuts, and they adore honey. I have been lucky enough to go badger watching and one way to get them to stick around the sett for a while is to smear tree roots with peanut butter or honey. As an occasional treat it isn't harmful; they do eat wild bees' nests too.

Honey badgers eat over 60 kinds of prey. They can eat honey as the name suggests because they have a partial resistance (but not blanket immunity) to many kinds of venom and there are 12 species of African bees, not all of them are the "killer" bees kind. Also they can eat venomous snakes and scorpions, again that resistance to venom protects them. Small reptiles and amphibians such as frogs too. Birds, carrion, and invertebrates, also small mammals such as mice.

There are also American badgers and Eurasian badgers which eat a lot of the same things where applicable.

Not only do they eat smaller prey items, but they actually will gang up with Coyotes sometimes (even though they are natual enemies) to catch ground squirrels. The badger digs, and the coyote waits at the other entrances to catch the escaping ground squirrels.

They mooch about in the soil where they eat any creepy crawlies they find. When we have them in to rehabilitate, we feed them cat food, cat biscuits, nuts and fruit, mealworms and they love chocolate biscuits.

Their favourite foods are earthworms, insects, roots, fruits and berries. They may on occasion catch a young rabbit or even a frog.
