lol.. no not the space. we need moooooooooooooooooooooooore time to take control of the space. its too big! too many things that we still do not know about. We need something more specific, like another planet. That is our only assured choice right now.

Not possible, our current society consumes resources at such a rate that the current population (even if we start world wide tomorrow China's policy of 2 parents, 1 child) will expend our fuel. We have none left to colonize another planet. Let alone MOVE there. Some say there are volatiles in the asteroid belt, but same problem, we don't have the resources to get there and start the process. Bottom line, we need to understand that the Earth is a Living Womb, and we ain't gettin' out of it, so we better stop shitting in it and start taking care of it, ALL of it. And what's this "far future" stuff? Do you realize how much the Oxygen partial pressure has dropped since they started measuring it? Carefull where you look when you research this, many sources "avoid" telling the truth. But considering the truth, do you want to start living like they did in early Comunist China, the very worst years RIGHT NOW, and continue to do so or worse for the next 4 generations, this as the BEST standard of living in the world. To have a LONG CHANCE at starting a colony somewhere else? This means your children don't get out, you don't get out, maybe 100 out of a billion people get to leave, but not for a better life, not for at least 20 generations. Or would you like to not give up on what we've got. (Just my opinion backed by the raw facts and logic, not wishfull thinking, sorry. If its any concellation to you, it bummed me out when I figured out that space is pretty much impossible given the "state of the world" too.)

I don't think his is something for you to worry about. People like you and I wouldn't get a seat. The seats would be saved for the rich. So we'd need to find a way to survive right here. If they will be able to build sustainable bio-spheres on Mars then it would be much easier to do so here. If you think we will be running from a probable nuclear holocaust then we must work to prevent that now. I don't think there is any question that there will be mass starvation across the planet in the near future with the way the population is growing and the way we have been treating our land and sea.

With the emergence of M Theory many say a likely human "lifeboat" scenario would be a parallel universe. Not saying I necessarily agree, but just finished an interesting book, Parallel Universes, by Michio Kaku that addresses this with more than one possible solution. I personally think the answer lies in the timeframe we have to do it in. It would take too long to terraform a planet like Mars. So, I think in the fairly near future, it would not be feasible.

I agree, although an alternative for the near future is the ocean floor. Mankind as a whole needs to make a serious effort to colonize ourselves on the ocean floor and in space.

Hopefully we will develop hyperdrive engines for shuttles or something. Or maybe we can somehow renew teh earths natural resources so we can still use them. Then we have to find a way to destroy the comet that will come and impact and make it minimal threat. After that we have to move the earth away from the sun in order to avoid it when it turns into a red giant. Then we have to move it closer when it turns into a white dwarf. We have to do all that without knocking the earth out of orbit too. I THINK IT'S POSSIBLE!

I do think of area is our destiny yet do unlike how human beings say we'd desire to go off the Earth to maintain ourselves. Earth is the final habitat for individuals interior the universe and could proceed to be so for thousands and thousands of years. worldwide warming or perhaps nuclear conflict are actually not undesirable adequate catastrophes to make Earth a worse place than Mars or Venus. there could be some planet orbiting yet another celeb that would desire to be as solid as Earth, yet while there is we don't be attentive to approximately it yet. besides, it is going to likely be centuries a minimum of before we'd have any desire of coming up interstellar commute.

We humans cant survive in outer space. So, why attempt a space voyage if you are just committing suicide. Like it or not, humans are stuck on Earth. Humans will die on Earth. Better to committee suicide on Earth than spend all that money for casket floating around in space.

yes and that may not be the first time a life form left this planet for the stars. we have lost cities here that are more than 10000 years oldthat show high inteligents and advanced skills. they could have left to colinize other places. you can prove this is possable look how far the usa has come in only 200 years.now look at the durability of our stuff a 2006 chevy if left alone would compleatly rot and blow away in less than 500 years but a stone wall will last much longer.so it would not be a surprize that high tech items that are fragile by nature would not survive 10000 years of weather. but if they wanted to leave somthing lasting behind they might use their knowladge of geology in selecting materials for this porpous.perhaps somthing made it off this rock earlier and is waiting for us.
