Nevada Barr's books -- mysteries set in National Parks
Tony Hillerman -- i put off reading them because i didn't think I would be that intersted, but they are great and I have read them all.
I still love Nancy Drew, too.

I go for the English (mysteries) when I want to read a Great mystery Like Agatha Christie My favorite Book is
Death on the Nile and other books
When I want to read a great Horror book I like Stephen King
My favorite book of his would be All of his short story Books
Like Nightmares & Dreamscapes for example
