Difficult. I feel like I'm made to feel I'm free when in reality I'm only free to make the choices dictated by society. I mean you always have a choice, but your penalised heavily for the ones that "they" (that's as good of way as I can think of putting it) don't approve off and doesn't help continue the overall cycle of society as we know it.
So in short, no, I don't.

The world isn't mine or anyone elses but that doesn't mean we are not free. Freedom is something you feel inside, not how you can or can't behave in society. We need the restrictions and laws to function as a society always have always will. How would you feel in a society that let everyone do just as they pleased, when they pleased? Would you feel free then? The only real freedom we will ever have is our thoughts! You are still free to think what you like and for some we also have the freedom to say what we think. True freedom would only be obtainable if you were truely alone! No-one can escape the responsibilities and the restrictions that come with them, of living with others.

No. I just answered a question like this. I was looking at the birds the other day and i wished I could be like them so free and happy, being able to go anywhere there wings led them. I will never be free, damn why did i learn about stupid surrealism? Heres a quote I learnt.

'Surrelism has taught me that man will never be free. Yet fights for what he can never be. That is tragic.'

It is so true how can we be free when there is social order and you can't do what you want fully, you can't be selfish you must think of others. The only way would be to move to the country far from society and live alone and become completly self suffcient then maybe you will but other then that you can never be free. None of us. We are also slaves to our desires as well.

I wish I'd lived in the past where they were free to discover anything and go where they wanted and discovered new worlds and wasn't so afraid of everything. They condition us to be scared to try anything. Read 'Brave New World.' If you haven't already this world is turning like that.

Obviously rules are for our own safety but when we have a passion to do something then how can it be so wrong. How do we know anything they tell us is wrong. What would happen if there were no rules. Chaos. But aren't we in chaos. With our hirachical society why do some people deserve to be on top. I'm not free I'm working class we work till we die and why, so the people on top can be comfortable. Not even the Queen is free she has to posh all the time and repressed.

I'm not sure what 'free' means. No one is ever completely free in any social setting. All societies develop rules. To function they have to -- conflicting rights etc. My freedom to make a noise ; yours to enjoy some peace and quiet. The question is really whither I agree that the restrictions on my personel freedom are balanced by the good these limitations create for society as a whole, myself included. Just now I'm not convinced that we need so many restrictions or who they really benefit. Security does matter to any state but we're no more secure if we lock up the wrong people. Children need to be protected but are they any safer now than they were a generation ago? There are certainly fewer adults willing to get involved with youth organizations. No one wants dangerous dogs but any breed can be dangerous not just the ones on the list. I somehow think we've got too many laws, sometimes passed too quickly and we're probably worse off. I don't think I feel that the 'world is mine' but I don't think it could be . If I want the benefits of society some freedom has to be traded i just think the balance has shifted too far and we're in danger of losing the more open libreal society we want to protect.

No, I don't feel the world is mine at all. I'm only allowed to exist in it if I follow the rules. The only place I feel free is in my mind. I can think whatever I want about whatever I want. But I'm not free to say what I want a lot of the time or do what I want because of rules of how to behave in polite society and laws in general.

I may not agree with many laws and all.... but sometimes they are necessary to keep the waywards in check.
Even when there are rules and laws, people don't always abide by them so this should not be a big deal.

the world is indeed ours but most people leave the well-being of the world to the government's hands. And there is only so much the govt can do.

I feel free, but that's as a result of understanding myself and the psychological constraints on my choices.

I think that ultimately we are always free to choose between right and wrong, in however limited circumstances. Britain isn't a particularly free society, but it is more of one than many places on the planet, including America.

No one can afford to wait until we have a free society, mostly because we'll all be dead before it happens.

it is known that all insightful things have already been said so I live by one thing that Dostojevski mentioned-you can't live in a society and be free... that clip of yours sums it up perfectly... we are born whit the perception of how our liefs should look like, and finally it does, and when we take a step out of the box it is nothing but variation on the tune that someone long ago wrote and still didn't stop to play...

I do not feel free but anyway life is good like that because we need to be protected by the laws,if there were no laws, you know i cant imagine what life would be like. But at last we have to feel free because we are being protected.
