At the start of the season, I believe there was 7. 3 made it to the playoffs, 2 to the Super Bowl. I believe Art Shell and Dennis Green have both lost their jobs...there's been a lot of changes around the league actually. Pittsburgh's new coach is a young black man (I am starting to feel old or something when head coaches are now my age or younger).

I'm not completely sure of the question. But if you are asking why it was such a big deal that Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith had both their teams in the Super Bowl, it's because it is the first time that any African American head Coach has coached a team to the superbowl. And this year it was two. So, we'll have the first African American head coach to win a superbowl. That's why it was so important.

No there was Dennis Green of the Arizona Cardinals, and Art Shell of the Oakland Raiders. They got fired though. Other than that there is Herm Edwards of the Chiefs and Mike Tomlin who was one of the Vikings assistant coaches got hired as the Steelers Head Coach. Also Romeo Crennel of the Browns and Marvin Lewis of the Bengals

Those are the only guys I can think of off the top of my head.

I don't think so. It was the 1st time that 2 black coaches faced eachother at the SuperBowl.
