Or is just still suffering from shell shock? It has to really scar someone deeply to be put into a prisoner of war camp. Should the U.S. really be giving serious consideration to the thoughts from someone who has so many issues to deal with?
Arizona Sen. John McCain, the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said proponents of the nonbinding, bipartisan resolution were undermining national security. "This is a vote of no confidence in both the mission and the troops,"
.....June 1967, USS Forrestal: a Zuni rocket fired from an F-4 Phantom II piloted by Lt. Cmdr. John McCain, hit an A-4 Skyhawk getting ready to launch. The missile struck and knocked off the A-4's fuel tank and started a fire. With his aircraft surrounded by flames, John McCain escaped from his jet by climbing out of the cockpit, walking down the nose, and jumping off the refueling probe. Nine major explosions on the flight deck occurred. The fire left 132 Forrestal crewmen dead, 62 more injured, 2 MIA.

Leogirl08... Hitler's problems were "way" behind him too. WWI ended in 1918. He didn't get elected to office until 1933.

macarthur... It's not a statement....this was a question. Do you just randomly seek questions to make un-informed remarks about? We shouldn't give you any serious consideration either.

Answer #5 "no name"? Your answer is very crude but I think I get the point of what you are saying. He very well may be cutting his chances of getting the Whitehouse in 2008.

Bryan....You don't think the same can be said for the Republicans effort to cast the blame on the Democrats? Regardless of when we pull out or how we pull out, common sense tells anyone that there will be much more killing done in Iraq for years to come due to our destabilizing the balance of power in the region. Wouldn't the Republicans then blame this on the Democrats before the 2008 elections?

Answerman....... You may very well be right. He has already surrounded himself with the same drummers and trumpeters that G.W. used. The same ones that bashed McCain when he ran against G.W. My concern is that he is scarred so deeply that he will unleash pent-up anger and frustration if he ever gets his finger on the button.

liverlips...... I don't believe that the situation in Iraq was ever meant to BE won. If the minds that set the events that led to the invasion thought that, then we truly are in trouble. Nothing short of Genocide of entire Middle East could give the U.S. a "win". I don't think any sane person could want that. You're right.... another Vietnam.
