my electrice bill is very high. I was gone for 30 days and set therm. to 50 degrees and my electrice bill was 165.00 dollars for the month I live in TEXAS

If it is a heat pump you need to have your refrigerant charge checked. Have them also inspect your thermostat and have them check the anticipator if it is a mercury bulb thermostat. It could also be a stuck sequencer which brings on your electric heating elements. If one is stuck on it will cause high power bills. It could also be that you are getting cold air dropping down the wall and affecting your thermostat. Take the thermostat off of the wall and see if you are getting cold air out from where the wires are coming through the wall. If you are, take some insulation or something to plug the hole. The thermostat will then sense the room temperature and not the cold air temp coming down the wall.

The thermal overload is tripping on your fan motor. This causes the fan to stop for the minute, cool down and reset. Replace the fan motor

I have had my outside AC unit run continuously because of a bad relay.
