I think it was an incomplete thought to pander to an already supportive crowd. It does seem odd that corporation that are making such huge profits get quite a few tax breaks from the federal government. Seems there should be a better method of incentive then just tax breaks for the government to encourage oil companies to further explore alternate energy sources and or domestic oil fields. Not sure of exact methods but perhaps having them prove that they are seeking progress on those issues or they don't get their corporate licenses renewed?

If Exxon would use some of this money on alternative fuels themselves without prodding, this would have never been an issue.
Just seems like good business to me - instead of outright greed.
I do not condone the government coming in & forcing any company spending their money in research but still it just seems like a common sense decision.

I am aware of Hillary's arrogance but wasn't aware she's gone so far as do actualluy think or persuade other's there is money in a corperation she can lay claims to. If I'm not mistaken that communism, to even consider. I haven't heard her accusation she intends to stand behind but this 'idea' of power is worse than what I keep hearing Bush being accused of. Does anyone actually believe she or anyone else for that matter, can touch the profits of corporate profits? Don't be fooled, it's as stupid as her saying, she will personally stop the Iraqie war. Arrogance at it's worse and no way will I vote for her.

Certainly we can safely end the corporate welfare for this business. You need to understand that she won't be getting a check for money it goes into a general fund. Congress has control over where the money goes, except for the special funds that Bush has demanded for fighting his war. But now that the rubberstamp he had for Congress is over, he may have some difficulty with that. Ethanol is a waste as it costs money to produce corn and that corn is removed from the food chain so that leads to much higher consumer prices for food and meat. We absolutely must take the lead in renewable resources for engines and electricity or we will leave ourselves in the position of a third rate country. With the former third rate countries going online and beginning to afford cars, they will take over a techonlogical lead that will leave us in the dust, while we kowtow to crazy dictators of all stripe who happen to have oil under their land. China and India for instance, have little if any oil and they are growing by leaps and bounds, they are working on hydrogen engines, and other forms of energy. It is incredibly short sighted to pretend that Exxon with its obvious manipulation of the market has any reason at all to devlope an alternate energy source that would in any way endanger its profit.
Yes, shes suitable for president, shes hard working, bright, and a very serious grown up type for the job, but her biggest drawback is that she isn't charismatic. You would hope we would be so tired by now of charm, that that would be appealling, but I'm afraid that we are still more interested in someone who looks good than thinks well.

she's a socialist. She wants the government to basically control everything. Doing what she's asking will also drive up the gas prices.

What she said that day was pure communism, plain and simple. Since she's a communist, I'm not surprised at all. But how can the American people be so gullible?

It's a lot better than Bush making his rich cronies more money while ripping off the middle class.
