Why don't rich Dems share in the plight of the poor. Why do they want you and me to pay more taxes?

Their neo-liberal plan for the redistribution of wealth doesn't include them.

Those two hypocrites also cry and whine about alternate sources of energy and vetoed a wind farm off the Massachusettes coast.

Just another two neo-liberals who want change and social justice but not if it inconveniences them.

For the same reason rich Rep don't. And limit tax breaks to others who are wealthy.

Actually there is more than one reason.

For the same reason those who hold office vote to give themselves raises, but keep minium wage low.

Lack of understanding of what it is like to struggle to survive, what it is like to really work for what you have. Lack of understanding of what it is like to have to choose between riding the bus to work in the winter cold, or being able to get a cup of coffee or something later that day. Or what it means to go cold because you won't buy yourself a coat, because your kids need something.

For the same reason most of us were we to become wealthy would not be giving half our fortunes away to help the plight of the poor, greed.

The law makers wo are responsible for determining minium wage should when elected to office have to live on the incomes of the working families out there. Let a senator, or congressman or a person who would be president live by the same restrictions that someone with poor education, or high school education only, someone who has to try to exist because living is not what it can be called on minium wage.

Let them find a place to live, cloth, and feed themselves for one year prior to their holding the office they are elected to this goes for govenors and other officials.

Perhaps then they will remember they are to serve the people, rather than think that the people are here to support them.

It is not now nor has it EVER been about the 'poor' whoever they are. It's about what they have to say to remain in power. And Kennedy has never done a day's work in his life. He inherited his money. And the Poodle is a golddigger - he married his.

You do know where taxes go to right? They go to schools, roads, hospitals, fire departments, police departments, garbage collection and a lot of other things you probably take for granted.

Because of the huge national debt incurred by the Republicans in the last 6 years, the wealthiest 1% of the population are the only people to actually benefit by the tax breaks the Rep. have implemented. Everybody else is a net loser.

That would be because they want more dependence on government. It's not about punishing the rich to pay for the poor, believe it or not. It's about preventing people from BECOMING rich and thereby independent of government, and thereby not capable of being convinced to vote for government largesse.

I can't give you the answer you want on this, the poor people need to earn their money. I earn mine they can get off there butts and earn theirs too. No one is incapable, they are just lazy. And I'm sorry also, but the worlds poverty is not our problem.

Exactly, the dems always point the finger at the republicans for being too rich, and hating the poor, when they don't do anything to help them..
Yeah, John Edwards has the most expensive private estate in the U.S, but then says how bush is evil because he doesn't do anything to help poor people.

Amen!

Why is it that the people who grew up rich are so anxious to take money from us hard-working low/middle-income people?

The people who EARNED their wealth (mostly conservatives) understand that LOWERING taxes is what stimulates the economy and benefits everyone. The people who inherited their vast fortunes and never had to work a real job their entire life are the ones who think that everyone who has a job should give half of their money to those that don't care to work.

Unbelievable.

Didn't Kerry advocate only raising taxes on the rich? I believe he would have raised taxes on himself before he raised them on you or me....unless you make over $250,000/year you are completely wrong on this one.

Sounds like inflamitory rhetoric, just what we can expect from conservative nutjobs.

I wonder if you will feel the same way when you have millions. I can see you now, passing out your money until there's none left.
