Not exactly... I wouldn't suggest you lose your virginity to someone if the prom is the only date you've had. I would say most people do not lose their virginity at prom, unless they've been dating for a very long time. Even then, it's a little hard to say as to whether you should be thinking about sex such a young age.
If you are taking someone to prom, I would not be expecting to get laid. Just enjoy their company, and being young. Don't rush things. If you really care about someone, and like them... it will be worth the wait, trust me.

The purpose of the Prom is to lose your virginity, and in some states it is even law.

I went to four proms and I didn't have sex after any of them...Two years I went with the same guy but he didn't pressure me and now we are happier then ever that we waited. Don't do it just because its prom night and that's what your "supposed" to do.

OMG, not everyone!!! unless you can do it yourself, u have to have a willing partner, that wants to have sex. who knows if your lucky enough, you might lose before the prom....

i didnt loose my virginity till i was 22.... i had my prom when i was 18... you tell me lol
