Well if he doesn't like it then you ought not call HIM that.
Doesn't make it "wrong" or "right" to call someone else "gorgeous" though!
LOL!
Gorgeous means very attractive and is generally accepted to be a non-gender specific term which can also be applied to non living things. Like a bunch of flowers.
It cannot really be compared to a girl being called a "hunk" in that respect. It is more akin to calling a man "beautiful". Although it is even less feminine than that ^.
He may have a point about what boys LIKE though.
Though- my man loves being called "gorgeous". He gets all smiley about it and grins like the cat who got the cream. So, I will continue calling him it.

Gorgeous is a term I would associate with a female - Men are usually classed as handsome rather than gorgeous...

Seriously, people? Most of you couldn't take the few seconds of your time to use proper grammar? This is just crazy. Everyone has the ability to use proper grammar, and be literate in general, and, yet, you all insist on typing as if you don't have a shift key. Look, I want to help this poor 'Questioner' about her problem, but I couldn't help it, most of you are worse on the computer than the ten year old 'Iphone-Fags'. Anyways, now that I got that out of my system... Miss, as a male grows attraction towards another, he tends to give off signs. These can range from shyness to complete lust. However, there is one sign that works for some people. Focus on his pupils before talking to him. When you are about to speak to him, keep focus on his pupils. If they constrict, then he may be interested. If his arms are folded, he's probably not interested (he still may be). Another option is to ask him out on the date. It wouldn't hurt for you to take charge in a relationship. Good luck to you, my dear, and have a wonderful time.

Oh sure you can call a man gorgeous. The only reason he may not like it is because he's not secure enough in himself.

Next time he calls you beautiful to any of the following: 1. Step up to him, touch his arm, and kiss him on the cheek. 2. Batt your eyelashes and grin at him. 3. Bit your lip or roll your eyes. 4. Give him a BIG hug. (Guys love that :) I think he likes you, but if you do one of these and he's all, "WHOA, back off!" then you know he isn't and its all good. It also shows you have guts! Go for it, you'll regret it if you don't. Besides he's making the first move, so make the second!! Good luck!

I think gorgeous is a unisex term, meaning it can be applied to males or females. I told my husband he is beautiful once, and he got upset! LMAO
Can't disturb the male ego ! .... if a guy is cool with it, then go ahead, but if he's not, then find other words to describe how you see things.

Gorgeous is fine although it can dent the male ego!
Go with something that sounds more manly like sexy.
Put it this way you wouldn't want him calling you hunk! :)
