Because the density of the water in the Dead Sea is very much higher than that of ordinary water because of the dissolved salts in it. The human body is only slightly denser than water so it is much lighter than the Dead Sea so it will float easily.

In order for something to float in any liquid the object must be less dense than the liquid. In freshwater (rivers & lakes) our bodies are more dense than the water and so we sink. In the sea there is a lot of salt that increases the density of the water. The Dead Sea is VERY salty and therefore very dense. Our bodies are therefore less dense than the water around it and so we float... like a cork. :)

It's because of the ocean's salinity or salt content. The Dead Sea has more salt content compared to a normal sea. This thus increases its density. That's why its Dead Sea. Everything floats on it 'cause it is denser than the material placed on it.
