Alright, I will let you in on the big picture.

Girls are pink blankets and boys are blue blankets.

When you are born the nurse in the hospital looks at your hoo hoo or ding dong as diapers your bottom and then wraps you in either a pink blankie or a blue blankie and the significance of this one action is felt for the rest of your life.

Girls are raised like boy's up until the time they join society and then they are treated as boy's without testicles or a penis. I am hoping that the writer of Sex in the City was not implying that women have a penis. That would would make little sense at all.

Anyway, children go to day care and school and suddenly there are two sets of restrooms, his and hers. Apparently they think six year olds are attracted to touching one another while they go to the bathroom. I don't think so.

Now one day puberty will creep in somebody will tell girls or boys why their body is changing, but they will omit the part where if they repeat this information to their freinds everyone will start having sex. Needless to say everyone statrs having sex and the idea of kooties is replaced with the search for the holy grail.

The girls who have been raised to appreciate Barbies and playing house suddenly start acting like Barbies and playing doctor. The boys who have been playing sports and wargames suddenly put away their balls and start polishing their guns. Since girls haven't been trained in pleasures of field stripping a bazooka or a snub nose revolver boys begin turning into Ken dolls so that the girls will trust them.

Of course, once the newness of the situation is over boys go back to being boys and girls go back to being girls. Trust is harder to establish than children or adults for that matter ever realie.

Sure, they will try and get back together but like Adam and Eve they have been kicked out of their garden of Eden for tasting of the fruit of good and evil., whose was good and whose was evil is hard to say.

Eventually the desire to fit in will lead them to start meaningful relationships. If that doesn't work their sense of mortality will kick in and make them feel like their lives are a waste. At any rate, they try and make a go of being a couple.

She is still pink and he will blue again in no time. She'll start dreeing him up like Ken and getting him to alienate all his friends and make new friends. They'll have children and that will mean even newer friends. And, he'll raise the boys to play ball and idolize GI Joe with the kung fu grip while she will teach her daughters to play house and worship Barbie and her dream house. (One day the angels will come down and smite Mattle for all the idol worshipping they created.)

But there will be more Blue blankets and more Pink Blankets and more balls being put away and more guys dressing like Ken at the office party.

Makes you kind of wonder what they do out in the country without so much emphasis on children's toys.

Actually, all embryos start as female until the Y chromosome kicks in a little later. This is why men have nipples.
