In your case, if I was in it, I'd look for any or all of the "Cleanout" Plugs, in your plumbing system first.
Often in a shower there is no "P" trap persay, and it drains rather quickly to the larger plumbing for expulsion.
Without knowing where the shower is located, 1st. floor, etc. or the construction of the house, it may be that the CLEANOUT is outside, and usually visible.
I'll assume that the drain has a screen of some sort over it. I'll also assume you haven't stuffed items down that drain that might block flow. I'll also assume that no amount of chemicals will cut everything. IE: Hair pins etc.
I can't tell you how many times I've pulled a toilet,,,clogged,,, only to find some of those plastic devices that are part of a feminine hygene product.

Buy some drain unblocker. The foam ones are best. the ones that you leave overnight. This should do the trick. In future make sure you clear the drain of hair etc after every shower, to avoid it happening again.

Try a drain snake first....they are not caustic, like many drain cleaners are...you can rent one for a decent price.
There are gels you can use, too.
