I have always hated spinach, but I was led to believe that if I ate it, I would one day be able to lift massive boats, and spin them on my little finger and get a gal like oilive oil .... none of this has come to fruition, and I am left really upset by it, as I hate the taste of spinach. Do I have a case against warner bros or whoever made Popeye, for misleading us? I'm really annoyed by this!!

No, you don't have a case, but yes, Popeye was actively engaging in propaganda. It was a deliberate effort to get kids to eat spinach because of it's high iron content.

Only they found out later that they's got their stats wrong (decimal point in the wrong place) and spinach didn't have nearly as much iron as they thought it had - but by then Popeye had become a firm favourite so he stayed!

If you wanted a gal who looked like Olive Oil, you've been saved from a terrible fate. Olive Oil was fugly.
