Settle an argument between me and my husband!

Let's say you hear this sentence: "Even though he was exhausted, when Bill's boss asked him to work late, Bill just rolled over." or this one: "If the police want to search you, just roll over for them."

One of us has an image of a dog rolling over showing his belly. Another of us has an image of a person rolling over to take it in the *ss. Which do you think of? Which do you think is more common? Thanks!

I have mostly heard rolling over used as taking whatever if dished out...or up the *** as you put it.

But I have also heard it used as rolling over on someone as in snitching-or telling on someone.
