I work in a Language school who insists that when marking students exams, we actually write the correct answer for them on the test.

I believe that this is pedagogically wrong, that there tests should be graded but no"corrected" but cannot find any literature on the internet to back it up.

If I can go to MGMT with sources, maybe I can convince them that what we are doing does not help the student learn.

here is an article here Strategies for Correcting Students' Wrong Responses

Providing the correct answer for students allows them to improve their performance in the future. If you do not want to provide the correct answer for students, consider giving them the opportunity to redo incorrect answers as homework to earn extra points. That way, they will have to find the answers on their own and the opportunity to earn additional points will provide the incentive to do so.

I'm a teacher and I disagree. I believe that on certain assignments, learning takes place when you write the correction in place of the wrong answer. Why does it have to be a guessing game? I understand that you're trying to encourage students to read, and to look up the answer themselves, but time is always a factor in today's modern, fast-paced classroom. And, by the by, for every educational theory and study that's out there that supports a particular practice, there are dozens that don't. Best of luck. Peace.

By writing the correct answer, you show the children what they missed. Do you think they're going to correct the tests on their own? I don't think so. They'd rather go play outside and such. Don't force them to correct their tests either...they'll just hate taking them then.

What is the harm in writing the answer, especially if theperson got it wrong. That is not helping them,, that is saying.. "you wrote the wrong answer, here is the right one. Know it for the next test"

Easy..

if you work in a language school, maybe you should work on your own grammar before tearing down your students?
