Its probably a msn worm. When i scan my computer it shows up as ' Trojan Downloader.Generic3.NPE'. I've tried to use window defender and avg virus scan but it still appears after i heal or delete it. When i tried to go online to the anti-virus website, the worm somehow stops me from going there. Can someone tell me how to get rid of the virus pls? I got the worm from my friend on 1st februray 2007

First remove the virus using AVG or whatever means you have. The virus has a key in your registry that allows it to "self heal" upon restart of your computer.
Next go to Start, Programs, Accesories, System, System Restore. In system restore, on that calendar, restore to a date earlier than Feb 1 , 2007. That will restore your registry to a date earlier than the virus came. Reboot your computer, that is shut it down and restart it.
The virus will now be gone because you will now be running off a registry that doesnt contain the "self healer" for that virus.

Hi. There are several ways to try. If the worm is bad and tries to block you going to or running virus software, you can go online to Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool. Many times this will remove spyware, worms, or viruses that no other program can.
Hope that helps!

Try running your antivirus in safe mode this is the best way I think.
And try to update your software for better service.
good luck!
