Hmm...well, you see, in my opinion, everyone is different, but at the same time, we are all in a way the same...so im sure that if everyone just gave eachother the time to really get to know one another..then they would find at least one simple thing that they have in common and..in time you could just learn to understand the other person, see things from his point of view, even if you still totally disagree.
So, i think probably one of these 3 things could happen:
1. You´ll discover a whole new side to this person that you never knew before and start to like them more...or..
2. You will still disagree with many of their perspectives, but in time you may learn to have a respect for them and a little more understanding towards them aswell....or..
3. Even after spending time with them, you realize that you still dont like them at all...so you must really have very diverse views on some very sensitive and serious issues...
But this is just my point of view though. I hope it helps. =)

Well spending time with them will allow you to get to know them better and understand why they react the way they do.
Get to naturally like them..hmmm... this I would have say also 50/50. Either you will like them as you get to know them, or you will dispise them even more.
I work with an older guy, he is 66, and nice enough. He desperately needed a job and I convinced the boss to hire him. I always thought he was an ok guy. Well now that he has been working there for almost 2 years I have gotten to know him. While he is still a good person inside, he is soooooo annoying and just hearing his voice makes my blood curdle.
As a minimum spending time around this person who you dispise will allow you to get to know the real them. Atleast then you will either like them or have a better reason to dispise them.
Good luck and hope for the best

I think not liking one is due to lack of communication and being misunderstood by one another. I think that if adequate time was spent together, you could realize the common interests or thoughts that the two share. So, yes, I believe that if you spend enough time with someone you are not too fond of, you can probably start building a friendship with him or her.

I think it would all depend on the other person because I would try to communicate and find a balance. But if THEY did not reciprocate I would be alone whether I liked it or not. Takes Two to Tango!! @8-)

This is actually a skill level question. If you understand how like/dislike works, certainly you can get that person to like you, and they can get you to like them. I like to believe, I control how people feel about me- it's all very simple, but I have no control on how I feel about them- that is up for them to decide... emotions are reactions, I react almost always the same to the same thing-like a reflex. If you know where to hit me, you'll know how I'll respond.

50/50 at best. If she's already made up her mind. Women don't harldy change from that. Just be the "Distant" Friend. She'll always need one of those. Once she sees that your heart is true. She'll come around. She'll be drawn to your Kind Heart.

Yeah. It's been scientifically proven that if you're stranded on an island with someone, statistically speaking, you WILL fall in love with that person.

Yes, with reservation.
If, when captured, certain hostages have come to side with their captors, or feel great compassion for them, why not in less dire situations?
Why, are you moving in next door? ;)
