It sounds like you are pregnant - ths strength of the line is not important.
The pains you are having are definitely a cause of concern, especialy because you have a pain in your shoulder as well and it could be an ectopic pregnancy, so I think you need to get yourself to a doctor straight away who can do an ultrasound and see if it is ectopic. Pain can be felt on either side.
It's really important you do this because if it is ectopic and is caught early they can save your tube. Otherwise you might lose a tube which will make getting pregnant in the future more difficult. It is also very unsafe for you, so please go to the emergency room.

even if the positive line is faint, it's still there which means your pregnant!! congrats! theres a big possibility that it was only faint because your not that far along at all, and your pregnancy hormone could just be low (nothing to worry about it's just low in the beginning of pregnancy) I would still take the other test though just to reassure yourself, and do it in the morning like you said. you may get a darker line

It's definately a positive!
Mine was the same way and I actually posted the question here. And, it's true any line is a positve! Having had a miscarriage prior to this pregnancy I was really scared. So, I called my doc right away and told him I had a positive HPT. He scheduled me that same week for an ultrasound so I could see the heartbeat and we'd know right away if anything was wrong.
Call your obgyn/midwife and let them know about your HPT. Also, tell them your symptoms. Chances are they'll get you in today for a blood test and ultrasound just to ease your mind.

I would make an appt for the doctor. An ectopic pregnancy can happen on either side it occurs in the fallopian tubes. It would be rather early to have any pain though. But I would definitely make a appt and go from there. I wish you luck!!!

As far as the actual test goes, they always say that if both lines show, even just barely, that you can be sure you are pregnant. Go to your doctor and tell them everything about the pain.

First of all CONGRATS!! you are pregnant
second, if you are having pain you should go see a doctor and i am really surprised that you need to ask you have been pregnant before you know what you need to do.

I had bad pains throughout both my preganacies but ti was nothing. As you are concerned though I would advise you make an appointment to see your GP and discuss this with them. By all accounts you are pregnant though

You should see your Dr. ASAP! The pain can be in either shoulder. If it's really bad, you're tube could've already ruptured. Good luck!
