Jeff - Because you gay people get so uppity and defensive when you're asked that it makes it look like you're just mad that we have you all figured out.

Ok,so to keep from being "immoral" I guess I'll be straight for a while...

....but wait, I can't get married because I'm not straight....... but I can't lie about who I am either (Prov 6:17, 12:22)...because that's another abomination used to support that all gays are "immoral" just by fact that they are gay.

(Can someone say "misinterpretation"?)

I wonder if the person asking this question is aware of the other "abominations" he may also be guilty of while he's pointing his finger at gays. (Note: NONE of the abominations are any worse than any other abomination in the Bible, like.....)

...remarrying one's wife after she's had another husband in between (Deut 24:4),
...or approaching any woman and singing during her period (Lev 18:19).
...Cross-dressing is out (Deut 22:5),
but that includes Halloween costumes,
slacks on women,
bib overalls on little girls,
or a wife wearing her husband's favorite Oxford buttondown. And more on buttondowns in a moment.

Other abominations include
...tarot readings,
...glancing at your horoscope,
...trimming one's beard,
...and getting a tattoo, even if it says, "Mom" (Lev 19:26-28).
...Haughty eyes (Prov 6:17)

...Being untruthful also includes false weights and measures (Prov 11:1),
or any other dishonesty in business. "Everyone who acts unjustly is an abomination to the LORD your God" (Prov 11:16).

What do abominators have for dinner?
...Rare steaks off the grill (Lev 17:10),
...Lobster Newburg and crab cakes (Lev 11:10),
...a rack of ribs at the Bar-B-Que (Lev 11:7).

But abominations are not just about bodily functions.
...Charging or paying interest are abominations.
...
I wonder if the person asking this question which is actually a statement to call gays immoral, realizes how immoral HE is if he owns a car with a car loan, a house, or has any sort of credit card in his wallet. Yep,same words used to describe people who are gay also are used to describe people who ....

...are Bankers and anyone with a mortgage, car loan or credit card debt, regardless of the interest rate (Psalm 15:1-5, Jeremiah 15:10). So those who work for credit card companies or have more than one car or credit card are doubly damned?

...Graven images of other gods are an abomination (Deut 7:25). Thus the Happy Buddha on my dresser has me surely damned.

...wearing blended fabrics. Deuteronomy 22:11 forbids wearing a material made of wool and linen,

....Leviticus 19:19 says it's an abomination to wear any blended material, period. Hence a woman in a man's buttondown can be doubly abominable if it's a no-iron, easy care blend of cotton and polyester.

..so maybe the person asking this question should check his fabrics in his closet...if he's wearing or owns a blend (poly-cotton for example) , then he is in the same boat as the immoral gays.

You come with the assumption that it's immoral. Don't judge based on your own moral compass, because it's definitely not the truth.

Marriage is a right that should be given to all people, should they want it. Denying gay people this right - which comes with privileges they should have in a relationship - is like treating them as second-class citizens, which they are not. Gay people are contributing members of society, and deserve recognition as such. They aren't immoral because of who they love.

There's no proof that being homosexual does any damage to anyone - it's homophobia that's immoral, because it breeds fear, hatred and ignorance (sound familiar?). Ban homophobia, not gay marriage.

Well D.L., I can't speak for others but I'll put it to you this way, I do not feel I owe you anything let alone justifying myself. You are not part of my life and therefore have no bearing on it. You wish to believe I am immoral, fine, but just as you have the right to your belief and your views, kindly do me the service of allowing me the same. You will never be part of my life so again, I owe you nothing.

As for getting married, I personally, at this point, have no desire to get married however I reserve the right to do so if I choose. In my country I can, so again, your opinion is just that, your opinion and I choose to dismiss it.

Thank you.

I don't think that they are looking to justify any immorality. They are merely looking to attain equal rights under law.

The immorality is in denying a not insignificant proportion of society the right to live as equals.

Consider Apartheid in SA or even just go back 50 years in US History for life before the Civil Rights Movement. Consider the Suffrage Movement in the UK (100 yrs ago)...the list goes on.

You're funny!!!

You justify YOUR immorality all the time!!! Preachers getting caught embezzling millions of dollars, Priests molesting children but then say they're "gay" which is a CROCK! Pastors getting caught sleeping around with porn stars.
You allow MURDERERS to legally marry
You allow Thieves to legally marry
You allow RAPISTS to legally marry
You even allow CHILD MOLESTERS to legally marry...

Then you DARE to call US immoral?

Now That's the epitome of irony!

Here is a way to answer your own question; why do you freel the need to get on here and justify your hate for anyone different from you by TRYING to justify your own bigotry?

LOL, "we" aren't justifying anything and could care less about your viewpoint on our relationships. Regardless of what you think, the facts remain "we" have the exact same motivations to "get married" as you do and deserve the right just as much.

And what gives YOU the right to take the moral high ground? You've never done ANYTHING immoral?
Who says homosexuality is immoral?? YOU??
Take the beam out of your own eye... idiot.

I don't need to justify anything to anybody. If my boyfriend and I decided to get married, we should be able to. I'm not asking for extra rights, just the same ones you have..

Why do SOME heterosexual, straight people feel they need to exemplify their ignorance by acting as though they're some sort of moral compass?
