Some historical scientists think that no matter what the cause of war is, it is not the real reason people are fighting.
The real reason why people are fighting each other is that someone benefits from other's deaths. So I think that the best description of war is simply murder. Every political conflict, every territorial argument, every religious contradiction is only a cause for people high up to give the "fire" order.
So, I guess, war is a controlled manslaughter aimed at a certain person's or certain group of persons' benefit.

mass murder. i don't see what the difference is. it's people murdering each other. i don't see a difference in gang 'wars' and real ones. just different principles on what causes them.
