if it is only a soft tissue contracture and can be straightened gently a physiotherapist is the best person to help. if however there is a bony problem like a fracture or a dislocation u need to see an orthopedic surgeon, also use a splint to keep it in the corrected position.

If you see a doctor now he may be able to do some thing, exercises is a good idea in the mean time but if it gets set in this position then it will not go to original position and you may loose the use of it over the long run.

If your finger has contracted, you will need to excercise it often, just streatching it our and in as far as you can tolerate. Do it very day,a few times per day. Thats the only way you can get it to loosen up
