Type msconfig on Run program, then disable start up program you wish.

Way too many ways, But lets protend that you know absolutely nothing about what makes a computer compute. Go to freewarefiles.com and download Cclean or any of the other 100 or more start up editors and it will show you what is starting up with Windows. Another hint is to look at your task bar when you start your windows. All those icons are programs that are running now. By default programs like Real Player, Quicktime, Messenger, and any programs that you download and installed without unchecking the load with Windows button will do just that.
