Hi,

Today is my first day of working at the Starbucks in Target. I'm kind of nervous I'll go to the wrong place first and feel really stupid the whole day. Should I go to the Starbucks first or do I go where I took my interview to punch in?

Thanks

if they didn't tell you where to go or what to do on your last interview or phone conversation....Go into work about 10-15 minutes early and then I would go to Starbucks first and see my new manager or supervisor. Then casually ask about clocking in. =)

Don't stress hon, you'll have a fun day at work I'm sure.

Hi go to where you had the interview and tell who ever is there that you are starting work today. They will know you are starting work today. Also do not be nervous one thing you need to remember is this everyone has a first day and everyone is new at some point. Good luck and you will have a great day.

I think the folks above have answered your question, but I have a VERY important suggestion for you.

Let about a week go by, and when you're talking to your manager, ask if (s)he has a minute to answer a couple of questions.

If they do, ask about your company's 401K plan...

Do they have one? (the answer is yes, by the way, but you're building a rapport)

How much does the company match? (SBUX matches the first 4% of an employee's withholdings on a sliding scale based on tenure)

What's the vesting period for company contributions? (Immediate!!!! This is VERY rare!!)

Then ask when you can sign up. (after 90 days)

Then, and this is the most important part.... **DO IT**!

Employer matched 401ks are simply THE BEST opportunity for entry level employees to start their path to the American dream. They're tax-deferred, and employer contributions are free money.

SBUX also offers a 15% discount Stock Investment Plan, but you might want to wait a few months before you get involved in that... It looks like a great program, it certainly beats my former employer's (Home Depot).

I'm not an SBUX employee, never have been, and I'm really not much of a customer... I really prefer Folgers, which I have a cup of beside me right now! LOL But I'm a big proponent of 401Ks... They're awesome, and SBUX' looks like a good one.

Go in 15 minutes early and go to the Starbucks and let them know its your first day today. Someone will help you out from there.
