I would sugest to keep an eye on it. I myself am allergic and my children are not but my sister and her husband and his mother has the allergie and one out of 3 of their children has the allergie. She was givven the medication and then broke out in red bumps all over her hand even on the palms of her hand. When my sister took her to emerg the stupid doctor gave her her another prescription for stonger stuff but it was still pencillin. Luckely my sister had doughts about the doctor and took her to another hospital and found out she had a severe allergie to penycillin and if she would have taken the previous stuff that the stupid doctor gave her who knows if she'd still be here. Sad really cause we are supoosed tu trust our doctors!!!
I hope all this information helps you. Just keep an eye on your children!!!

hi, I too am allergic to penicillin, my son is 8 now and I haven't had an allergy test on him, but I explain to the doctor I would prefer him on treatment (if he is ever sick) other than penicillin.. my doctor understands and is happy to do so.

Hope this helps.

I am not allergic to penicillan but my son was he broke out in hivves at 2 years old when he took it so when my daughter was born my doctor suggested waiting till she was older to try penicillian on her since there is so many other antibiotics out there to give now. I would wait till your kids are 4 before trying till your doctor to prescribe something else until then!

There is no way to be sure other than having them have a penicillin allergy test.

allergy to penicillin is not genetically transferred..so your sentivity to penicillin does not nesserilally be transfered to your child.
