"Osteology" is the study of bones, and their structure. It's from the Latin "os" for bones. I'm certain everyone has heard of "osteoperosis"

Sounds like the study of bones to me.

Osteo is the part of a word that relates to bones (eg osteoporosis is a disease of bones)

Ology is the part of a word which means study of (lots of school or college sujects end in ology - technology for example
