What seemingly insignificant act or deed could you carry out this week that would improve other peoples lives around you. Sometimes small acts of kindness make the biggest changes in our lives.

I think I'm a real do-gooder. I plant crocus bulbs around the trees in the public street...it gladdens people's hearts (until their dogs pee on them)

I support World Wildlife, Oxfam and Support a Grandparent with regular subscriptions by direct debit.

I work as a therapist (mind you, I do get paid)

I'm a real sweetie if friends need a listening ear, and I'm a good mum ...

Just call me Goodie Two Shoes...(not)

But you're right, seriously, small acts of kindness do make a difference in the world. I think just smiling can make a difference (though not all the time, that could be sickening!!)

Good question!

I have elderly neighbors, and they set their trash bags out on the porch early in the morning, but don't usually take them to the dumpster (in an apt. complex) until mid-afternoon due to how cold it is right now. I can grab their bags and take them to the dumpster on my way to work.

We can all just be kind - smile at a stranger, have patience with a cashier or fast food worker who doesn't have it all together in an instant, those types of things. Hold the door open for those who are older than us, women with children, etc. and so on and so forth.

If everyone would make an effort to just committ these types of small acts of kindness, our world would be a better place!

Well I have a very close friend - who at the moment is irritating me with pie in the sky ideas - which at the moment - if I hear anymore of it - I will loose my cool -so the most insignifcant thing I could do is this..

Look him in the eye, s8t face and say
" Your ideas are complete codswallop, infact they are a joke..so you could you please shut up and come back to earth. I am sick and tired of hearing about wind turnbines and energy saving washing lines.. I think your have been become obbsessed with something that is highly boring and uncool and unsexy.. so FACK OFF"

After saying this I would walk calmy away and feel great satisfation that I helped a very severely mentally challeneged person to take a good look at his uninteresting life. It was also save a lot of other peoples ears and sanity too.

I think smiling is vastly underrated, also listening without always having to offer advice. If someone strikes a cord that makes you think what the person has said or done is considerate or nice tell them. If you have a good thought about someone share it with them, look for the beauty in people and let them know, we always assume people know the good things about themselves but unless we vocalise our opinions how could they know? Just be kind and courteous.

I love the 'Random Acts of Kindness' book series. And have followed many of my own ideas.

There's an unlimited no of things like this that I could do.

As it's so cold, like someone mentioned, I'm gonna focus on this and the elderly. Some lifts to the shops or running errands is what I'll focus on for them. Thanks for the reminder!

Good luck! rob

Every day on my way home from work, I pass by this intersection where homeless people hold up signs asking for money. I usually give them some...maybe I will give them more next time.

I also bring in gloves and hats for the kids I teach. (I teach in a poor area and a lot of the kids do not have these things)
