I'm sorry you're down right now. Here are some things I do when I get to feeling that way.

1. Count your blessings. Really, think of all the things you would miss if they were taken away.
2. Think of others who have it worse than you.
3. Help someone else. Volunteer.
4. Read an autobiography of someone you admire - chances are they've gone through really tough times also.
5. Remember that God created you and you really matter to Him.
6. Check out some motivational tapes from the library.
7. Someone once said that life is 90% what happens to you and 10% how you respond to it. Get a little quote book of other motivational quotes.
8. Along the same lines get a Bible Promise Book - a listing of promises God makes to us regarding different situations.
9. Keep in mind that you'll never appreciate the good things in life without something to compare it against.
10. Look at all the sorry losers that give people stupid, mean answers onthis board, and realize how disappointing their life must be. Ha!

Oh my, you're looking at it backwards. You want to be positive and pessimistic, not optimistic. If you were a pessimist, you would not notice all the things that are disappointing because you would be EXPECTING those. Instead you would be endlessly delighted by all the things that turn out so much BETTER than you expected!

Optimists always expect things to be so GOOD, so it's easy to start focusing on the the things that don't turn out to expectation and forget the ones that do. Pessimists are just the opposite - we expect things to be so BAD, and are distracted by the all the things that UNexpectedly turn out so well!

It's amazing how much goes right when you expect it to all go wrong.

life in general can be yreated with full-optimism by living your own life. not meddling in someone's life if you are not directly or indirectly involved. Leave things alone, and let them be. Stop making people love you by making them jealous- it never works. You can't breed love out of trying to see how jealous they are. Instead you're shhooing them away. Only love the ones you can have, do not go beyond illicit means or immoral ways of looking through a chick to love. if there is no love, cut all communication and let it all alone. I am not jealous, no matter how many windows a man could see through pink pigs or birds. it has no effect on me anymore. and this is what is making me optimistic.

Keep dreaming, but tell yourself that whatever you dream about is never ever going to come true. Because life is a game, and when you want something very badly, it hands down something else. It doesn't want you to think that you're perfect or life's perfect. Life was never about being happy. Life was never about life either. God sent us here as his slaves and we should live like we are, only his slaves.

Think about God. He loves you, and he cares. Think about why he would do this and that. But know that the answer is always that God doesn't give you what you can not handle. Or to put it in other words, Life knows your strong enough to handle this, or life wants you to be strong enough to handle it. Try thinking about the ones who have more hardships to go through. Who live in the 3rd world country and hardly can afford bread and butter for their meals. Try thinking about the millions dying in Africa due to starvation. Try thinking about worse times, such as floods, drought, accidents, disasters. People lose so much. Yet thats the grim reality life is.

Don't expect too much out of life, try not to expect anything at all. Make a few close friends, but don't hate anybody. Smile to everyone. Don't just enjoy life, don't live in the moment. Try flexing yourself. Make something out of life. Figure out who you are, and what life is before its too late.

One chooses to remain positive and optimistic. This sounds very simple because it is.

Life is a matter of choices..The present is a product of the past. The future is a product of the present circumstances.Whatever decisions we have today will greatly affect our tommorow...There is always HOPE...as long as we keep on breathing.

Power through it, smiling. Each disappointment helps us appreciate it more when things do go our way.

Just be good to yourself, and others. Mentally and physically.
Simple as that. But hard to do for most:)
