First off, do NOT get an iguana if a 10 gal is all you have. they can reach 4-6 ft in a year. Most reptiles need adequate space to either swim or climb. We have a tokay gecko in a 47 tall. we have 2 turtles in a 75 and 6 hatchlings in a 10. we have 7 tre frogs and an anole in a 20 tall. We have 3 hermit crabs in a 10. we have a FBT in a 20long. We have an aquatic frog in a 1gal. What I would like most that I think would suffice in a 10 gallon as long as you have vines for it to climb is a pygmy chameloen. They are so small but really cute. I found some as a local pet store for 40 bucks. They stress easily so you have to keep them in the same spot, you cant move, thats the only reason I havent gotten one yet b/c we are moving soon. I would see if you couldnt find one of these. Other than that, most things will grow and need more space. Just do the research and care b/4 getting one so that you arent getting yourself into something that is too time consuming and will be neglected. Good luck!

There are not many reptiles that can stay in a 10 gallon tank permanently. You could get some anoles which are also very cheap. You could get a king snake or corn snake but they will need larger tanks eventually. You could get a baby lizard of some sort to put in there temporarily till you need a bigger cage. Don't get an Iguana if you have a 10 gallon though.

A leopard gecko would be perfect for a ten gallon tank. I breed them. They are great pets. Easy to care for. It would be a bad idea to get an iguana because they outgrow their cages very fast. If you get a leopard gecko or think about getting oneand have any questions feel free to ask me brandibear1983@yahoo.com.

Get an iguana !!
I bought one ...he was only 2 and a half inches ....raised him till he was 3 feet !
Awesome pet ...need lots of care though !!
MUST HAVE ...HEAT ROCK and light above him ...not too close ! Fresh veggies everyday and water! Go to a GOOD pet store and get all the proper stuff for him ! They are not emotional like a cat or dog ...but nice to watch and look at , very fascinating !
Good luck ...hope i helped you ......also they love a warm bath in the tub once in a while ...they swim so cute!
