It's funny, the people that dont participate in cultural divisions (being part of a certain clique) are the ones who end up doing better in life. You shouldnt be concerned about being labled, you should be more concerned about what you are doing with your life. If you are participating in a certain lifestyle choice (gothic or otherwise), you deserve the label. If you resist the peer pressure to go dark, get tatoos and piercings, you will far exceed those who dont. There is NO good ending to any lifestyle choice. The goth, emo, punk and whatever others are simply a choice to change your looks so that other people will look at you. You listen to a certain kind of music, you wear your hair a certain way...all of it is a superficial desire to get people to look at you. Why would you want to be so shallow? They are FADS! Why would you want to participate in fads, especially ones that promote body modification that cant easily be removed?? There are 18 year olds who are now covered head to toe in tatoos. They are 18! These kids are living in the NOW, with no regard for what their future may be. They will be 30 some day, and after the lifestyle fad has past, they are left with the tattoos and piercings that are preventing them from getting good jobs.
We as a society need to get back to the things that matter. We need to stop doing things just to get attention (the lifestyle choices, spending thousands on your car stereo, etc.) and get back to personal responsibility, preparation for our future and doing things that matter for the long term.

Very true. People who don't have much faith in their individuality need to be part of a group so that they can take bits of everyone else to form themselves. Although lots of people try to be different, they end up being the same( does that make sense?). So i guess the only answer is to be yourself because only YOU can be you...

Whatever happened to the label "Individual"?
Even if someone happens to exhibit certain traits that others have, they will also exhibit traits that those others don't have. Each person is uniquely different, so trying to fit them exclusively into groups is mostly unrealistic.

in reality the international isn't as complicated and straightforward as your ideas. once you sense the discomfort it hurts, and once you go by particular memories it isn't as satisfied bypass fortunate, and calm, cool, and collective as you ought to imagine. I spend time living in my ideas. i imagine deep, or im inventive. It often times enables and prepares me for the open....(authentic international)!!
