I'm going to the champions league final (Athens) in May and i need an ideal hotel that is close to the stadium. Any ideas??

Most hotels in the area anywhere near the stadium as well as Central (Syntagma, Omonia, Plaka areas) are booked that week since it will be drawing hundreds of thousands of people in that week. You may want to consider a hotel someplace a little less central, but on a Metro line and you can take that to the stadium for the game as well as any festivities thereabouts. Try areas such as Glyfada or Paleo Faliro (Both will get you on or very close to the sea...Try Hotel London in Glyfada), Neos Kosmos, or Piraeus (the port area). If you stay in Piraeus, you can hope on the same line that runs directly to the stadium, with no switching lines or trains, as well you will be close enough to go into Plaka from any of these suggested areas very easily on the metro or tram for less than 1 euro each way.

Most of the good hotels in Athens are about 20-30 mins from the stadium- either in central Athens, or Kiffisia( northern sub). Though Kiffisia is closer it's more expensive, so I'd suggest Athens central. If you give me a budget i can tell you some. What kind of accommodation do you want and budget is quite important info. well I don't know if there are hotels near the stadium, but there is a metro station, so basically what you need is a hotel near the metro. It is convenient to find a hotel in Kifissia, near the metro station, but that is a very nice and expensive suburb, or near Omonoia station, which is in the centre of Athens but not a very nice area, or Syntagma station, or in the Plaka area, which is the historic centre of Athens, so you can see a bit of Athens too. Go to www.hotels.gr or something similar and check out the hotels in those areas I mentioned.

I work in travel agency and i know that the most hotels are fully booked for that period,i suggest you to make a reservation as soon as possible.The nearest hotels in the stadium are
Best Western Caterina,twenty one and also President hotel.But any hotel in the center could be a good choice as the train connect direct the stadium.

Just in front of the Metropolia Church. Hotel name Metropolia. In centre, Reasturant Basament great food, Belive you me there is very very cheap. Have great time.
