Are Filipinos stupid?

I think we Filipinos, like other nationalities, have moments of stupidity. One instance of stupidity Filipinos have committed is that era, I think the 1900's, wherein we gave American "colonizers" the chance to rule and "influence" us soon after Spaniards took over our country for 300 years. Filipino minds were implanted with this so-called "pro-American" mentality which seems to be like an incurable disease. Nevertheless, the experiences Filipinos have had in the past paved way for better things to happen for which we all Filipinos are still grateful about. Filipinos are projected to dominate the world's working force, similar to fellow Indians and Chinese. There has been a significant annual increase in number of overseas Filipinos working as nurses and teachers in the US, just as Indian engineers and technicians are slowly dominating Silicon Valley.

What made you pick this topic as your thesis? I'm not trying to be racist but you asked the question and I'm going to tell you my experience. From my experience I have come across many of them that don't work very hard. A lot live with their extended family and have 10 people in the house- mom, dad, kids, uncle, aunt, grandma, grandpa, cousin, cousin's kid. But only 1 or 2 people in the house will have a job. The ones I've met who aren't poor and have some money love to show it!! They brag about how much money they have, the kinds of things they own, the cars they drive, all the property they own. It might be because they know a lot of them don't have money and they have something to prove. A lot of the ones I went to high school with were getting abortions at a young age or had suffered some kind of sexual abuse. I have heard from Filipinos themselves who have said they don't like other Filipinos for these reasons and wouldn't marry someone Filipino. Someone told me that in every ethnicity there is a hierarchy and for Asians they are at the very bottom. They don't really consider themselves Asians but as Filipino. And the reason why on applications you see Pacific Islander a seperate category from Asians is because Filipinos fall under Pacific Islander. When they are in that box they can qualify for more government assistance or programs because as a whole they don't do as well as other Asians and if they were in the Asian box they wouldn't qualify for the help. That is what I have experienced. I'm not saying this is how they all are this has just been my experience!

As an American living in the Philippines for 6 years I can tell you that at first I didn't believe there was any difference in the Asian countries and I've lived in many. After all this time I do find one thing to be true and almost any honest Filipino businessman will agree 100% that nearly ALL Filipinos will lie, cheat or steal. They love gossip and over acting and exaggerated dance and are over all POOR at business especially in the less major cities. There does seem to be a void in their thinking overall that permeates the society as a whole. There are no ruins or temples or any piece of history aside from what the Spanish or American left behind and most of the country if not born into money or have a Chinese Filipino heritage spend their life just trying to feed their families. For SURE the most corrupt Asian country and they will tell you that themselves. A good thing to remember is that you cannot teach them anything really and you cannot change them and remember the phrase "ONLY in the Philippines"!

there's stupid people everywhere...I think the most appropriate thing to say is, lazy...The Filipino is generally lazy, taught by those Spanish elements. You see it in all Spanish conquested coutnries from Latin America...Just eat pork all day, drink your beer, talk crap, watch your tv 8 hours a day, sleep, go to church, then come home and watch teleseria, dumb talk/variety shows...and you have learned nothing from the day..your productivity has gone down the tube. Yep, most of them are stubborn, negative, liars, late, assuming on everything, immature and worst of all they don't think before they act which leads to major consequences... I'm a Filipino but I'm getting sick of my own country. People here always think that they are the best amongst all countries, but based on their common personalities, they aren't... The real beauty is in the heart and mind, not in the face and body. Most of them are poor, homeless, indebt and selfish. That's why I'm leaving this goddamned country. Most of them underestimate, discriminate, and hate me and dumped me out like I was a filthy garbage to them.

Why Filipinos alone. There are stupids in all category and races of people. But in general some races are more intelligent than others. It is generally accepted that the yellow race is relatively superior in intelligence than other races. So it is likely that there are less stupids among the Filipinos than in other races.

the most stupid i found from Filipinos, they easily get emotional on little issue with no such value to link to their lives. they're contented of what they are and don't even dream of going to moon to explore. they're late bloomers.
